GATESHEAD manager Ian Bogie declared himself happy with his side’s performance in their 3-1 pre-season defeat against a Sunderland XI at the Academy of Light.
New signing Jonny Allan was on target for the Tynesiders in a behind-closed-doors game against a side which included Marton Fulop, Teemu Tainio and David Healy.

Gateshead manager Ian Bogie revealed patience on the ball and quality finishing was the difference between Gateshead and Sunderland XI following the club’s 3-1 defeat at the Academy of Light.
Bogie’s men fell to first half goals from Jordan Cook and David Healy before Jonny Allan scored from the penalty spot for Gateshead.

Gateshead lost their latest pre season friendly earlier today falling to a 3-1 defeat at the Academy of Light against a Sunderland side which included Marton Fulop, David Healy and Teemu Tainio.
First half strikes from Sunderland’s young midfielder Jordan Cook and Northern Ireland record goal scorer Healy set the black cats on their way to victory, before striker Jonny Allan give the visitors hope with a penalty before half time.

GATESHEAD are interested in Venezuelan goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruez following the 26-year-old’s release from Aldershot Town.
It was originally thought that Ruez was to head home. The shot-stopper, however, has had a change of mind and Gateshead have made an approach.

Goals for Brian Wake, Alex Francis and Danish trialist Mark Sundstrup were the highlights of Gateshead's full scale practice game at the International Stadium.
The lowlight was a facial injury to central defender Carl Jones who lay on the pristine pitch for several minutes before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

SIX TRIALISTS ON SHOW AT OPEN DAY. Gateshead Football Club will stage an Open Day at the International Stadium this Saturday afternoon with FREE ENTRY to all supporters.
A Gateshead v Newcastle junior athletics meeting will precede the main event which will kick-off at 1:30pm and will involve a full scale practice match between the full Gateshead squad excluding injured trio Jon Shaw, James Curtis and Craig Nelthorpe and possibly goalkeeper Paul Farman who is struggling with a knee injury.

The logo of international firm Sevcon, designer and manufacturer of control systems for battery powered vehicles located locally on the Team Valley Trading Estate, will once again be seen on Gateshead shirts next season.
Sevcon, who operate worldwide from its headquarters in Gateshead, and from subsidiaries in France, Japan, Korea, and the USA, has renewed its partnership with Gateshead Football Club.

HAVING already scoured the country for the final four signings to complete his squad, Gateshead boss Ian Bogie has spread the net to include foreign talent.
Bermuda international Tyrell Burgess is currently trialling with the club having jetted in from the West Indies. And now Scandinavia has also come on to Bogie’s radar.

Gateshead manager Ian Bogie declared himself satisfied with his side's second half performance in Tuesday's 2-1 pre-season friendly win at Harrogate Town.
Trailing at the half way stage the Tynesiders hit back with a goals early and late in the second period to gain a second successive win on the road.

The pattern of Gateshead's pre-season friendlies continued in a wet North Yorkshire as a late Tyrell Burgess goal saw Ian Bogie's men come from behind to win 2-1.
All five of Gateshead's warm up games have been decided by one goal, three in favour of the opposition and the last two won by the Tynesiders.

Gateshead gave a surprise run out to the elder brother of former England captain John Terry during last night's 2-1 pre-season friendly win at Harrogate Town.
Paul Terry, who has played over a century of games for both Yeovil Town and Dagenham & Redbridge, came on for the second half at a rainlashed CNG Stadium.

A Talk In will be held on Thursday, July 22nd, at Gateshead Corporation Club opposite Gateshead Leisure Centre.
Two days later on July 24th, the Gateshead FC Open Day will be held at the International Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

PAUL FARMAN won't relinquish his spot as Gateshead's first-choice goalkeeper without a fight - a point he proved with a superb display at the Brewery Field on Saturday.
While manager Ian Bogie scours the country for a second keeper to replace the departed Jim Provett, Farman was unbeatable as Gateshead beat Spennymoor Town 1-0.

Former Sunderland products David Dowson and David Brown have both put pen to paper on non-contract deals at Gateshead taking the squad up to 21 with more signings still to come.
Front man Dowson, 21, has Football League experience at both Chesterfield and Darlington while left back Brown is an England youth international.

An inspired performance from 20 year old goalkeeper Paul Farman and an improved second half display saw Gateshead edge home courtesy of Jonny Allan's 73rd minute strike.

A Jonny Allan goal 17 minutes from time gave Gateshead their first pre-season friendly win with a hard earned 1-0 victory over Spennymoor Town at the Brewery Field.
The Northern League champions gave a Gateshead side missing a host of first teamers a real run for their money in an entertaining game in front of a 400 strong crowd.

With Kevin McKinley receiving treatment following a spat with Andy Ferrell, and play suspended, Alan Jenkins launched an audacious free kick that sailed past Paul Farman, standing casually outside his penalty area.

GATESHEAD fans will finally get the chance to see former Sheffield Wednesday and Rochdale striker Jon Shaw in action tonight – eight months after his scheduled home debut.
Shaw will lead the Gateshead line against Scottish First Division outfit Greenock Morton at the International Stadium alongside Brian Wake, signed from Morton in January.

Unlike the opening two pre-season friendlies Gateshead manager Ian Bogie will not use every player in his squad for the visit of Scottish 1st division club Greenock Morton on Thursday.
Bogie expects to use 16/17 players in what will be the Tynesiders first warm up game at home, the other being against a Newcastle United XI at the end of the month.

GATESHEAD'S longest-serving player and last season's Player of the Year James Curtis will miss the start of the Blue Square Premier season after breaking his foot.
The influential 27-year-old central defender broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot during the friendly at Middlesbrough.
