Setting The Scene
Gateshead host Bradford (Park Avenue) on Tuesday evening (7:45pm kick-off) in search of their first win of the National League North season.

The Heed are yet to lose this season, having drawn three from three so far against Southport, Darlington and AFC Telford United.

Mike Williamson’s side have secured two clean sheets so far with solid defensive displays, but are now looking to find the net at the other end to secure three points.

The Avenue have endured a rough start to the season having ended last season inside the play-off places, losing all three games so far.

Heavy 5-0 defeats against Guiseley and Curzon Ashton led to the departure of manager Garry Thompson, with Marcus Law presiding over their 3-0 loss to Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday.

Team News
Michael Nelson (shoulder) will be unavailable after being taken off at AFC Telford United on Saturday, while Nicky Deverdics could be in line to make his second Gateshead debut should his international clearance come through in time for Tuesday’s game.

What We're Saying
Speaking to gateshead-fc.com ahead of Tuesday’s game, player-manager Mike Williamson said: “Every game is a good chance for three points for us.

“Obviously it’s a big game, we want to play good football and we want to move the ball well.
“We’re looking for our first win and we’re very confident that we’ll be able to do that.”

What They’re Saying
Speaking after Bradford (Park Avenue)’s 3-0 defeat against Kidderminster on Saturday, interim manager Marcus Law told the club’s official website of his young squad: “Confidence can be up and down quite rapidly, so we’ve got to nurture and we’ve got to look after them.

“We’ve got to get some experience in there to help the core of young players who can obviously deliver, it’s really tough to have a whole squad of them in this league because it’s relentless.

“I think we made two mistakes in the first half and got punished, and rightly so.”
