36-year-old forward Hatch joined the Tynesiders from Darlington back in 2012 and was part of the Gateshead squad that reached the play-off final at Wembley in 2014. During his time at the International Stadium, Hatch netted 15 times in 73 appearances.

Hatch had somewhat of a cult status amongst fans during his spell International Stadium – lauded for his effort and work rate up-front.

He was also a scourge of referees, being the only Gateshead player to amass 15 yellow cards in a single season since the club’s return to the fifth tier in 2009.

Geordie striker Thompson is Gateshead’s all-time top goalscorer with 130 goals in 439 appearances over four separate spells in the 90s and 2000s.

Back in 2007, Thompson had his Gateshead testimonial against Newcastle United at the International Stadium with the sides playing out a 3-3 draw in front of a 1,400 strong crowd.

A thrilling match saw David Southern draw the Heed level after James Troisi’s opener. A Shola Ameobi brace then put The Magpies in a commanding position early in the second half before Graeme Armstrong and Jamie Harwood both found the net to complete an impressive Gateshead comeback.

Newcastle legend Peacock signed for the Magpies in 1994 and went on to make 176 appearances for the club over a four-year spell, scoring four goals, the most notable of which came in the 5-0 drubbing of Manchester United at St. James’ Park in 1996.

“It is going to be great to come back to the area for the game,” Peacock said.

“My happiest times in football were spent on Tyneside and we came so close to winning the league and giving the fans something to shout about.

“It is good to see Steve Watson doing so well in management. I hope we can raise a lot of money to help the club progress on and off the pitch.”

Left-back Beresford was another notable member of the Newcastle United side during the 90s, making 225 appearances in all competitions. He helped United earn promotion to the Premier League in 1993 before achieving four top-six finishes in consecutive seasons.

“We have played in front of 16,000 people in the last two games so I’m hoping we can pull in another big crowd at Gateshead Stadium,” Beresford said.

“The Newcastle fans still talk about the ‘Entertainers’ and it is nice of course, I just wish we could have won something for them. It will be nice to link up with all the lads on and off the pitch.”
