YOUNG midfielder Elliot Forbes has agreed a new one year deal at Gateshead Football Club.
Forbes becomes the Heed’s fourth signing of the summer, following on from player-manager Mike Williamson, JJ O’Donnell and Alex Nicholson.
The 20-year-old midfielder made 18 first team appearances in his first professional season at the International Stadium and is ready to get going again in the National League North.
“I’m buzzing to be honest,” said the Gateshead College graduate.
“My aim was always to stay at Gateshead and here is where I think I will improve most.
“There were other teams coming in for me but with Mike and Busted (Ian Watson) this is the best place for me to be.
“It’s massive for those two to stay here because they’re loved by the fans and the players and I think they will take the team very far next season.
“I’ve had a chat with them and I think our targets are all the same, we want to get promoted back to where we want to be and back where we deserve to be.”
