THE club’s ‘Silver Soccer’ walking football programme – in partnership with Gateshead Council and Get Active – began in January 2016, and has since gone from strength to strength.
Taking place at a string of venues across the borough, it costs just £2 to attend one of our ‘Silver Soccer’ sessions, with former Tynesider JJ O’Donnell regularly on hand with encouragement and advice.
A slower, non-contact version of the Beautiful Game, walking football delivers a plethora of health benefits, and has also been shown to carry a massive social aspect.
Taking part in a single session every week – for three months at a time – can help you to burn a whopping 4,200 calories, while covering a distance of 30 miles.
You don’t have to book in advance, just turn up on the day and one of the team will happily guide you through our swift registration process.
Running every week, our ‘Silver Soccer’ sessions take place…
Gateshead Leisure Centre, from 1pm until 2pm.
Gateshead International Stadium, from 6pm until 7pm.
Cleveland Hall Football Club, from 10am until 11am.
