Gateshead Football Club are delighted to announce that Scott Barrow has agreed a new one-year deal, subject to National League and FA ratification.
The left-back has spent the last two seasons at the International Stadium, making 80 appearances and scoring four goals.
The Welshman was named Player of the Season during his first season as the club reached the FA Trophy semi-final, and went on to captain the club in the National League last season.
Prior to joining Gateshead in June 2017, Barrow appeared for Merthyr Town and also spent time with League Two side Newport County and Macclesfield among others.
“We’ve got unfinished business,” Barrow told gateshead-fc.com.
“In my eyes if we kept the squad last year we would have gone up.
“The season before last when we kept myself, Fraser [Kerr], JJ and a few others, it’s key to keep some of the squad together and add new faces.
“We’ve done it this year in keeping a few lads again and adding new faces, we’ll keep a good spirit again and enjoy the season.
“It’s a sad thing that we’ve been relegated but we’ve got to use that as motivation and get ourselves back up at the first time of asking.
“I love this club, it was obviously a tough one when we got relegated and for me I want to play at the highest standard I can.
“The opportunity came for me to come back and after talking to Mike and Busted, who are the gaffer and assistant manager but good friends to me as well, I’m just glad I’m back.
“I have got my first training session in today so I’m just looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
