Signed in January 2012 from Darlington for a four figure fee, Chandler, Gateshead's vice-captain, was capped by England at various youth levels. The central midfield man joined Darlington at the start of the 2010/11 campaign after a spell on loan from Sunderland the previous season. The energetic schemer played over 70 games for the Quakers and was named Man of the Match in the 2011 FA Trophy final win over Mansfield Town at Wembley. Played 39 games for Gateshead last season.

Turnbull joined Gateshead for a second spell in February 2008 when he signed on loan from York City, the deal made permanent in March that year. He had previously played five games on loan for Gateshead during the 2005/2006 season from Hartlepool United. After leaving Victoria Park the playmaker moved on to then Conference Premier club York where injury hampered his progress. The skilful central midfield player has been a regular in the Gateshead engine room for the past five seasons and has played over 300 games for the club.

Former Republic of Ireland U.21 international Cummins signed for Gateshead from Conference rivals Grimsby Town in the summer of 2011. The midfielder racked up 287 games for Port Vale during a six year stay in the Potteries having began his career at Middlesbrough where he made two Premier League appearances. After leaving Port Vale, where he played in the 2001 LDV Vans final win over Brentford at the Millennium Stadium, Cummins had two year spells at both Darlington and Rotherham before he linked up with Grimsby and then Gateshead for whom he scored 12 goals in his first season and has made over 100 appearances.

Former England U.20 World Cup captain Walker played 26 games for League One club Scunthorpe United last season after starting his career at Middlesbrough. Tynesider Walker played 13 games for Boro, most of them in the Premier League where he made his debut at the age of 17. Scored for Aberdeen in an UEFA Cup tie against Bayern Munich and had other loan spells at Bournemouth, Northampton and Rotherham. After two years at Watford and further loans at Stevenage, Northampton and Scunthorpe he joined the latter in 2012 and then Gateshead a year later.

Quick silver attacking midfield man Marwood came through the ranks at Newcastle United and is the son of former Arsenal, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday winger Brian Marwood. After his release from Newcastle Marwood junior had brief spells at Blyth Spartans and Northern League club Team Northumbria before he linked up with Gateshead in the summer of 2010. He had a loan spell at FC Halifax Town in 2011/12 and has played over 100 games for Gateshead.

A product of Darlington's youth system who joined Gateshead in the summer of 2012 after two years with the Quakers. The central midfield player made 11 Conference Premier appearances in the second half of the 2011/12 season for Darlington, seven off the bench, and played the full 90 minutes in the Quakers 2-2 draw with York City at the Darlington Arena. He made his Conference debut for Gateshead earlier this season and scored on his first home start against Dartford. Had a loan spell at Darlington in February.

Maddison learnt his trade at Premier League club Newcastle United where he came through the ranks. Released by the Magpies in 2013 the wide man has pace to burn and an explosive shot. The youngster had a brief loan spell at Evo-Stik NPL club Blyth Spartans last season and finished the 2012/13 campaign over the border at Scottish Premiership club St. Johnstone.

Creative midfield man Oster was capped 13 times by Wales and was twice involved in £1m plus transfers, from Grimsby Town to Everton and from the Toffees to Sunderland. Oster joined Gateshead in September after playing 28 games for Barnet in League Two last season and has also played for Burnley, Reading, Crystal Palace and Doncaster Rovers. He has also had loan spells at Barnsley, Grimsby Town and Leeds United in a long career of over 500 appearances in the professional game.

Left-sided player O'Donnell, signed for Gateshead on loan in January from Luton Town and made his debut at Grimsby Town. He joined Luton from St. Albans City in January 2010 and has made 38 appearances, including 25 starts, for the Hatters. After loan spells at Thurrock and Hampton & Richmond in 2011/12, he signed a new three-year contract at Kenilworth Road in the summer of 2012. O'Donnell played five games on loan at Conference basement club Hyde before joining Gateshead.
