A promising 20 year old goalkeeper who made the number one shirt his own last season playing 41 games. Farman had joined Gateshead during the summer of 2009 from local rivals Blyth Spartans where he had made 17 appearances for the Blue Square North club the previous season. The talented glove man previously played three games for Newcastle United U.18s in 2007.

Named Blue Square Premier Player of the Month for October last season he has also been selected for the England C shadow squad.
