An experienced striker who linked up with Gateshead in the summer of 2010 and was top scorer last season with 21 goals in 45 games. Previously with Mansfield Town, Shaw's career began at hometown club Sheffield Wednesday where he made 21 appearances, including eight starts. Moving into non-league football, he played over a century of games for Burton Albion scoring 26 goals.

The England C international then scored 20 goals in 37 games for Halifax Town in the Conference Premier during 2007/8 which secured a £50,000 move to Rochdale where opportunities were limited. Shaw had loan spells at Barrow and Gateshead before joining Mansfield and then Gateshead permanently where he has twice been named Blue Square Bet Premier Player of the Month.

 

10. Yemi Odubade - Forward

A summer signing from Stevenage pacy front runner Odubade, ended last season on loan at Newport County.

Lagos-born Odubade started out at local club Eastbourne Town as a teenager where he scored an impressive 64 goals in 85 games. A short spell at Yeovil Town was followed by a productive two seasons at Eastbourne Borough. A £25,000 move to Oxford United saw him score 31 goals in 143 games for the U's and Odubade was then top scorer at Stevenage when the club won promotion to the Football League in 2010. He featured in the FA Trophy final at Wembley that year and last season played 20 league and cup games for Stevenage before joining Newport on loan and then Gateshead.

 

12. Nathan Fisher - Forward

The 21-year-old striker signed for Gateshead for a £3,000 fee in the 2010 close season after a prolific season at County Durham club Chester-le-Street Town. In a relegation campaign for the Cestrians Fisher hit a phenomenal 44 goals in 49 games to win the Northern League Golden Boot and Player of the Year awards.

The leading scorer for Middlesbrough's Academy side in 2006/7 he subsequently joined then SPL outfit Gretna, making one substitute appearance, before playing briefly for Durham City and then Chester-le-Street. Fisher was second top scorer at Gateshead last season with 13 goals.

 

15. Liam Hatch - Forward

Experienced front man Hatch, joined Gateshead from Darlington during the January transfer window for a four figure fee.

His career began in non-league football with Ramsgate, Herne Bay, and Gravesend & Northfleet. Hatch joined Barnet for £23,000 in 2003 and after 158 games and 28 goals for the Bees joined Peterborough United for £150,000. Two loan spells at Darlington was followed by a loan spell at Luton Town. He then joined Darlington on a permanent basis and in total scored 21 goals in 90 games for the Quakers before joining Gateshead in mid-season.

 

26. Phil Airey - Forward

Newcastle United striker Phil Airey, is on a one month loan at Gateshead having had a loan spell at Hibernian in the first half of the season curtailed through injury.

Tynesider Airey made his Newcastle debut off the bench in last season's FA Cup 3rd round defeat at Stevenage.

Player of the Tournament in the U.19 Foca Cup in Bosnia in May 2010, scoring two goals in the Final against NK Zagreb, Airey was also the Barclay Premier Reserve League North top scorer last season with 11 goals in 13 starts.
