Experienced striker Shaw linked up with Gateshead for the third time in the summer from Conference champions Luton Town. The former England C international began his career at hometown club Sheffield Wednesday, where he made 21 appearances, and he then played over a century of games for Burton Albion. After scoring 20 goals in 37 games for Halifax Town during 2007/8 a £50,000 move to Rochdale was secured. After loan spells at Crawley Town, Barrow and Gateshead Shaw joined Mansfield Town, and then Gateshead permanently in 2010. He had scored 56 goals in 96 games for The Heed when he signed for Luton on a two-year deal. Marked his 100th Gateshead appearance with a goal in the 3-0 win at Wrexham in August 2014.

Guy joined Gateshead in the close season having started his career at Premier League neighbours Newcastle United where he made one substitute appearance in the UEFA Cup. The Cumbrian then played 173 games for Doncaster Rovers, scoring 24 goals, during a five year period in Yorkshire. After loan spells at Hartlepool and Oldham he moved to League One club Milton Keynes Dons in 2010. While there he had two loan spells at Oxford United, and after making 35 appearances for MK Dons moved north of the border to join SPL club St. Mirren. Guy played 35 games in his one season in Paisley and then joined Carlisle United in 2013 where he, made 28 appearances, 11 off the bench before returning to Tyneside to sign for Gateshead.

 

11. Carl Finnigan - Forward

Former Newcastle United academy and reserve forward Finnigan signed for Gateshead after being released by South African club Chippa United. The Jarrow-born player had a prolific spell north of the Border with Falkirk, and has also represented St Johnstone and Dundee.

Talented front-runner Brown joined Gateshead in the 2012 close season from League One neighbours Hartlepool United where he had spent the last seven years. His promising career at Victoria Park was hampered by cruciate knee injuries in 2005 and 2008. The Northumbrian made 200 appearances for Hartlepool scoring 37 goals. Missed most of the first half of his first season at Gateshead due to injury and had injuries again in 2013/14. Brown has played 64 games and scored nine goals in his first two seasons at Gateshead.

A teenage striker who has come through the Gateshead College youth system, Kanda featured for the first-team in pre-season and was named on the bench by manager Gary Mills for the 1-0 win at Altrincham in August.

Much travelled front man Rankine has played in League Two for Scunthorpe United, Aldershot Town, and also while on loan at York City and AFC Bournemouth. He has also featured for York, Rushden & Diamonds and Hereford United in the Conference top flight, and in the Conference North at Alfreton Town and Barrow. The Doncaster-born striker scored 14 goals in 46 games under current Gateshead boss Gary Mills at York in 2010/11, which earned a move back into the Football League with Aldershot. Rankine played over a century of games for both Rushden & Diamonds and York City scoring 53 goals and was with Hereford United last season.
