Gary Mills - Manager

Mills was installed as Gateshead manager in September, six games into the 2013/14 season. As a player he was capped by England at three different levels, including U.21, and was a European Cup winner at Nottingham Forest. The midfielder made almost 250 appearances during five years at Leicester City, had two spells at Notts County and also played for Derby County. His first managerial post was at Grantham Town and he has also managed Notts County, King's Lynn, Tamworth, twice, Alfreton Town and York City. Mills, 52, won the Conference North title with Tamworth in 2009 and won the 2012 FA Trophy final and Conference play-off final, both at Wembley, on consecutive weekends in his first full season at York.


Darren Caskey - Assistant Manager

Assistant Manager

Caskey was appointed assistant-manager at Gateshead in September, moving from Ilkeston FC where he held the same post. His playing career started at Tottenham and while at White Hart Lane he captained England to victory in the Under-18 European Championships in 1993. After four years at Spurs Basildon-born Caskey moved to Reading for £700,000 and made 225 appearances for the royals before moving on to Notts County where he played a century of games, a number under then County boss Gary Mills.
