Now in his fifth season as Gateshead manager Ian Bogie had a tremendous start to his managerial career when he guided the Tyneside club to back-to-back promotions from the UniBond premier division to the Blue Square Premier. He joined Gateshead in the summer of 2006 as Assistant Manager and took over as Caretaker - Manager before he was given the Manager’s job on a permanent basis for the start of the 2007/2008 season. Promotion through the play-offs was achieved in his first season followed by a second promotion via the play-offs to the Conference Premier. Bogie, became Gateshead's first full-time manager for half a century in 2010 and this season guided the Tynesiders to their best start to a Conference Premier campaign. As a player he was a talented midfielder for six clubs. Capped by England at junior level he made over 450 appearances in the professional game taking in spells at hometown club Newcastle United, Preston North End, Millwall, Leyton Orient, Port Vale and Kidderminster Harriers.

Assistant manager / 1st team coach
A former manager of Tyneside clubs Newcastle Blue Star and West Allotment Celtic who joined Hartlepool United as Director of Youth Development in 2005. Mitchell, 50, took over as assistant manager and first team coach at Gateshead in July 2010.
In the first of his five years at Hartlepool he assisted caretaker manager Paul Stephenson with first team duties following the dismissal of manager Martin Scott during the 2005/6 League One campaign. At the now defunct Newcastle Blue Star, then named Newcastle RTM, Mitchell steered a young side to fifth in the Northern League before he took West Allotment to two Northern Alliance titles and promotion to the Northern League where he immediately claimed a second division League and Cup double.

Goalkeeping Coach
Appointed Gateshead goalkeeping coach in 2010 following the club's promotion to the Conference Premier.
The Middlesbrough-born keeper's playing career began at Sunderland before short spells at Darlington and Hartlepool United followed. Porter moved on to Southend United and then spent three years at York City having previously had a short spell in Iceland. Locally Porter, has played for Bishop Auckland and Billingham Synthonia.

Reserve team manager / 1st team coach
Paul Bryson joined hometown club Gateshead in the summer of 2010 as manager of the newly formed Gateshead reserves side and assistant first team coach. A former player-manager of Chester-le-Street Town, Bryson, 47, has spent a decade with the Sunderland AFC Academy and has also been England Colleges coach. Won the Durham Challenge Cup as Gateshead reserves boss last season.
As a player the skilful midfielder played for a host of North East non-league clubs including Spennymoor United, Eppleton, Dunston Fed and Tow Law Town.
