Reserves take on Tigers tonight

Phil TurnbullGateshead Reserves will look to build on last week's 1-1 draw with Central League East Division leaders Middlesbrough this evening.

The Heed second string host third top Hull City at the International Stadium, the Tigers having already recorded 4-0 and 4-1 wins over Gateshead this season.

Central defender Carl Magnay has pulled out of the Gateshead squad after he was sent home from training today due to illness.

Phil Turnbull makes his reserves bow after the midfielder found himself on the bench for the last two Conference games.

Jordan Marshall, one of four Gateshead College products in the starting XI, leads the attack with Martin Brittain and Chris Moore providing the width.

Striker Nathan Fisher again misses out due to injury but could return to training later this week.

After tonight's game Gateshead Reserves have three league games remaining including two against bottom club Scunthorpe United.

There is also a Durham Challenge Cup final against Spennymoor Town to look forward to on Good Friday morning.

Gateshead FC U.19s meanwhile will look to extend their unbeaten run to 13 games when they travel to lowly Boston United on Wednesday.

The Pilgrims are second bottom of the Football Conference Youth Alliance North Division with 12 defeats from their 14 games while Gateshead are third.

The Heed youngsters are also through to the semi-final of the FC Youth Alliance League Cup where they play either Dartford, Birmingham or Boreham Wood.
