Durham Challenge Cup date finalised

A date for the Durham Challenge Cup 2nd round tie at STL Northern League outfit Norton & Stockton Ancients has been confirmed.

Holders Gateshead reserves will continue their defence of the County Cup on Wednesday 11th January at 7:30pm on Teesside.

Gateshead are in action the night before in a re-arranged Blue Square Bet Premier game against Kidderminster Harriers at the International Stadium.

Gateshead FC U.19s meanwhile drew 1-1 this afternoon at Birmingham City Blues in the Football Conference Youth Alliance.

The Blues led at half-time but Michael Sweet equalised after the break with a great right foot finish.

Lynch and Carr then could have won it for the Heed but both shot over the bar.

Gateshead U.19s drew 1-1 with Birmingham City Blues earlier in the season, Sweet also on target in that game.
