Jonny AllanGateshead Reserves will attempt to record their first toresport.com league win when they host fellow Conference club Grimsby Town at the International Stadium tonight, 7pm.

The Tynesiders second string have won four games this season but so far only have one point in the league, a 1-1 draw with Hull City.

Jonny Allan is named on the bench and may be given a short run out as he continues to build up his fitness following a long standing knee injury.

Paul Farman will start in goal but may not play the full 90 minutes after Tim Deasy picked up a thigh injury during the Blue Square Bet Premier draw at Fleetwood Town last night.

Andy Ferrell will add a bit of experience in midfield while Carl Jones continues his comeback at the centre of defence.

Top scorer Brian Wake will again lead the attack while Josh Gillies plays on the left after recovering from illness.

Gateshead will also hand a debut to an unnamed foreign trialist up front against the Mariners, Grimsby being the only other club in the East Division outside the Football League.

The clash is between the only two sides still looking for their first league win and Gateshead will climb off the bottom and go above Grimsby if they are victorious tonight.
