Gateshead FC Talk In - Gateshead Corporation Club, Thursday 22nd July, 7:30pm

Manager Ian Bogie, assistant Terry Mitchell and the full Gateshead squad will be in attendance for the first supporters event of the week, on Thursday.

Host for the evening will be BBC Radio Newcastle's Barry Hindson and as well as a question and answer session there will be a pie & peas supper, free raffle and a quiz.

This is the perfect opportunity to meet the players and managerial staff and to get feedback about all aspects of Gateshead Football Club and the season ahead.

Supporters who have not paid in advance can pay the £5 entry fee on the door but are advised to contact Steve Gilhespy from the club's Commercial Department on 07776 - 117805 to aid with the order of the pie & peas.

"I am looking forward to meeting the fans on Thursday, as are the players," said manager Ian Bogie "having now become a professional club and with the new season just ahead of us there is plenty of activity at the club.

"The supporters are the lifeblood of the club. We receive tremendous backing from the terraces but need to increase the number of people who watch Gateshead Football Club so hopefully potential new fans will also come along for what should be an enjoyable evening."

Gateshead FC Open Day - International Stadium, Saturday 24th July, 1:30pm-4:30pm

Gateshead Football Club will stage an Open Day at the International Stadium this Saturday afternoon with FREE ENTRY to all supporters.

A Gateshead v Newcastle junior athletcs meeting will precede the main event which will kick-off at 1:30pm and will involve a full scale practice match between the full Gateshead squad excluding injured pair Jon Shaw and James Curtis.

Merchandise and season tickets will be available for purchase during the afternoon and players and supporters will be able to mingle in the bar after the game.

There will also be a half-time penalty shoot out for under 16s with a signed Gateshead football the prize for the winner. Younger children will shoot from a spot nearer to the goal. Those interested should bring their boots / trainers.

"The idea of the Open Day is for Gateshead fans to be able to watch the club's first professional squad for half a century play a competitive game," said chairman Graham Wood.

"The fans will also be able to purchase or order merchandise and buy season tickets, and entry to the event will be free."

Thursday's Talk In and Saturday's Open Day is an opportunity for supporters to connect with the club ahead of what will hopefully be a productive 2010/11 campaign.

"Our attendances have increased markedly over the last few seasons," added Wood "but we are mindful that we need to increase our fan base as we continue to drive the club forward.

"Hopefully supporters will turn up in numbers for the two events this week which come hard on the heels of the relaunched Gateshead FC Supporters Club.

"If we can attract members of the public who may be potential supporters to come along that will be a plus.so I would encourage fans to spread the word."

"There has been a lot of activity during the close season and there will be more signings to come as we build up to the big kick-off."
