Gateshead bid for FA Trophy glory

Gateshead's third round FA Trophy game at Barrow tonight has been given the go ahead - with a home tie against York City the prize for the winners.

The Tynesiders have a clean bill of health but four of their seven signings in January are not permitted to play in the FA Trophy.

Rikki Bains, Paul Heckingbottom and Andy Ferrell are all Trophy-tied while Peter Winn will only be available from the quarter final onwards.

Strikers Daryl Clare and Brian Wake along with wide man James Sinclair however are all eligible for tonight's clash in Cumbria.

The two sides drew 3-3 at Holker Street in a Blue Square Premier thriller on Boxing Day - a week before Barrow lost 3-0 against Sunderland in the 3rd round of the FA Cup at the Stadium of Light.
