Gateshead Superdad 2010

A brand new programme of events is starting on February 13 and running for seven weeks in Gateshead for male family members who are looking for fun challenges that involve their children.

The award scheme promises to be an exciting opportunity for dads to spend more quality time with their family.

Gateshead Superdad 2010

Superdad 2010 is open to all dads, stepdads, granddads and male carers with children over seven years of age by nature of the activities involved.

It kicks off with archery and orienteering at Whickham Thorns Outdoor Activity Centre, followed by model train building at Beamish and then a football session with Gateshead Football Club.

Martial arts and gardening are also on offer.

Points are awarded to all participants each week for areas such as teamwork and supporting others. Superdad awards will be presented at the end of the programme.

Gateshead Football Club is delighted to support this attractive event with coaching sessions arranged prior to our home fixture against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday February 27. A free buffet lunch and entrance to the game is included as part of the event.

Superdad 2010 is just one of many programmes run by Gateshead Council Family Learning.

All activities and materials are free and are designed to help participants keep up to date with their children's learning, as well as learning new activities and skills as part of a family.
